Discover the fundamentals of sewing in this beginner-friendly recreation program designed for teens and adults with little to no prior experience. Participants will learn how to confidently and safely use a sewing machine while creating fun, practical projects in a relaxed and supportive environment.

This hands-on class covers essential sewing skills including machine setup and safety, threading and bobbin winding, basic stitching techniques, simple pattern reading, and fabric cutting and assembly. Instruction is provided step-by-step, with plenty of individualized guidance to ensure all participants feel comfortable and successful.

During the program, participants will complete two beginner-appropriate projects—a small coin purse and a scrunchie—reinforcing foundational sewing skills while creating functional items to take home the same day.

Skill Level: Beginner (no prior sewing experience required)
By the end of the program, participants will gain practical sewing skills, build confidence, and leave with completed projects and the inspiration to continue sewing on their own.

You will need to bring with you - sewing machine, thread, scissors, measuring tools and fabrics (if you would like to work with any particular materials / fabrics. Instructor will provide some fabrics)
