3D Printing and Design
Curious about 3D printing? Come learn how it works with Ms. Jacie of Mass Mobile Makerspace.
This beginner friendly class will introduce students to the basics of 3D design using Tinkercad, a fun, kid-friendly, ad-free website that makes creating in 3D easy..even if you’ve never tried it before!
Students will create their own 3D designs and explore some of Tinkercad’s coolest features. Sim Lab lets you experiment with your creations and see how objects move, fall, bounce, and interact..almost like creating your own mini virtual playground! Codeblocks introduces the basics of coding by letting you build and design with simple blocks of commands, making it a fun way to combine creativity, problem-solving, and technology.
Students will also see a Bambu Lab 3D printer in action, learn about the different parts of the machine, and discover how a design on the computer can become a real 3D object.
No previous 3D design, coding, or printing experience is needed! Just bring your creativity and curiosity!
Each student will be able to design, print and keep at least three projects!
Laptop or Chromebook required.
