Dates: Wednesdays, April 3rd-May 8th (Playoffs - May 15th & 16th)Time: Games start at 6:15pmEligibility: Ages 21+Location: Bourne Community Building GymFee:  $55/resident  $65/non-residentRegistration Deadline: Wednesday, March 6thThe game schedule will be available by March 13thThe first four team names to be registered will be entered into the system and available as a registration option. Each player on your team must complete the registration process. When team members register please ensure to click the drop down menu, and select the team you wish to be assigned to. To ensure an even number of teams, registration will be open for up to four teams. At that time we will take a waiting list. Once the waiting list reaches an additional two teams, they will be enrolled.Program Information: Because we are playing on the short court, game format will be 4v4.Games will consist of 2, twenty minute halves.Score will be kept, and games will be refereed.Games will be played on the side courts, two at a time.We will be using a 28.5 size basketball.Teams can roster up to 10 people and must have a minimum of 7 players.A minimum of 2 females must be registered to a team. It is strongly encouraged that 1 female player is on the court.If play ends in a tie, we will play one 2 minute overtime period.Please familiarize yourself with the game play and rules prior to the first game of the season. All teams will make the playoffs, and will be ranked by most games won during the regular season. Tie breakers will be determined by defensive points allowed. Format and times may change based on the number of teams.This is a recreational league. All Bourne Rec Pickleball Lessons are taught by Straight Up Pickleball, founded by Laura and Karl Uggerholt. Straight Up's experienced and caring Coaching Team will offer comprehensive pickleball lessons, allowing players to advance through a consistent curriculum at their own pace. The instructors are excited about the season and look forward to sharing what they know about a sport they love with great people!Learn to Play Pickleball in two 90-minute lessons! The course will include learning the rules of the game, player positioning and the various shots (ground strokes, volleys, serves, dinks, etc.) Instruction will include drills to learn shots and game playing to put the skills learned into practice. You will be off and playing upon course completion!

This clinic is for people who already know the rules and the basics of pickleball. After the success of our January program, Coach Kassie returns to run an action packed and fun filled 4 weeks. Coach Kassie (BHS Women's Asst. Varsity Coach), has developed a program specifically to help players develop the fundamental skills needed to advance to a higher level of play or just have fun! Athletes of all skill levels welcome! Soft touch volleyballs as well as adult volleyballs will be available to use.The Recreation Department is not responsible for participants prior to the scheduled start of a program. We ask that caregivers stay with their children until attendance has been taken and the participant has been properly signed into the program with the instructor. Participants will be dismissed from the program to the caregiver promptly at conclusion. Caregivers must be physically present at dismissal. If you require any special accommodations related to dismissal, please communicate that with the Recreation Staff prior to the start of the program.

The instructors are excited about the season and look forward to sharing what they know about a sport they love with great people!Keep them back, keep them back, keep them back again! This lesson will focus on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th (or more!) shots of the game as the return team, winning rallies by keeping your opponents deep with the implementation of correct positioning and several specific shots. Appropriate for intermediate and advanced students, the first 60 minutes will focus on technique while the last 30 minutes will be practice with implementation through game play. Participants will be grouped based on level of experience. This clinic is for poeple who already know the rules and the basics of pickleball. The instructors are excited about the season and look forward to sharing what they know about a sport they love with great people!Round Robins are a fun and competitive 2 hour event, organized by skill level. Participants will play six games with varying partners and opponents. The Round Robin is a great way to get to know people and improve your game.

Dates: Thursdays, May 9th-30thTime: 4:30pm-6:00pmCost: $40.00 / Non-Res $50.00Eligibility: Grades 3-7Location: Bourne Community Building GymVolleyball is back at Bourne Rec. After the success of our January program, Coach Kassie returns to run an action packed and fun filled 4 weeks. Coach Kassie (BHS Women's Asst. Varsity Coach), has developed a program specifically to help players develop the fundamental skills needed to advance to a higher level of play or just have fun! Athletes of all skill levels welcome! Soft touch volleyballs as well as adult volleyballs will be available to use.The Recreation Department is not responsible for participants prior to the scheduled start of a program. We ask that caregivers stay with their children until attendance has been taken and the participant has been properly signed into the program with the instructor. Participants will be dismissed from the program to the caregiver promptly at conclusion. Caregivers must be physically present at dismissal. If you require any special accommodations related to dismissal, please communicate that with the Recreation Staff prior to the start of the program.

Shootaround is a program of the Recreation Department for residents to use the gym to play pick up basketball or simply work on their skill set. Shootaround is an unsupervised program. Participants are free to come and go from the community center.  It is recommended that parents of children 12 and under stay to supervise. Please bring your own basketball.All participants must be registered and sign in prior to participating. This program may be cancelled due to schedule conflicts. All participants must adhere to Community Building Policies and Procedures.No team practices or coaching allowed during shootaround.Exclusion Dates: Monday, May 13th -Bridges Open HouseFriday, May 17th-Wednesday, May 22nd - ElectionMonday, May 27th - Memorial DayThe Shootaround schedule is updated monthly.
